A collagen-stimulating injectable treatment designed to enhance the buttocks naturally — without implants, fat transfer, or downtime. Performed personally by Dr. Amir Mortazavi, MD at Plump Medical Spa in Newport Beach.
Radiesse is a collagen-stimulating dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse works in two phases — it provides immediate volume on injection, then triggers your body's own collagen production over the following weeks, building natural, long-lasting enhancement from within.
When injected into the gluteal region, Radiesse adds shape, lift, and fullness to the buttocks without any surgical procedure. There is no incision, no anesthesia, no implant, and no recovery period. Patients return to normal activities the same day.
Important distinction: The Radiesse BBL is a subtle enhancement treatment — not a surgical BBL replacement. It is best suited for patients seeking improved shape, projection, and skin quality rather than dramatic size change. Dr. Mortazavi will advise at consultation whether this treatment is appropriate for your goals.
The Radiesse BBL is a good fit if you:
All body Radiesse treatments at Plump are performed personally by Dr. Mortazavi. Body filler requires a physician with a thorough understanding of anatomy, tissue planes, and product behavior in larger volumes — this is not a treatment that should be delegated. Dr. Mortazavi designs every treatment plan individually and performs every injection himself.
Is the Radiesse BBL the same as a surgical BBL?
No. A surgical BBL involves liposuction to harvest fat, which is then transferred and injected into the buttocks under general anesthesia. The Radiesse BBL uses an injectable filler to add volume and stimulate collagen without surgery, anesthesia, or recovery. It is a subtle enhancement — not a replacement for surgical results.
How long do results last?
Results typically last up to 2 years. Because Radiesse stimulates your body's own collagen production, results often improve over the first 6 to 12 weeks and can be sustained with periodic touch-up sessions.
Is there downtime after a Radiesse BBL?
There is no significant downtime. Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Bruising, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites may occur and typically resolves within a few days. Avoiding prolonged sitting directly on the treated area for 24 to 48 hours is recommended.
How many syringes are needed?
Body enhancement with Radiesse typically requires a larger volume than facial filler. The exact number is confirmed at consultation based on your anatomy and goals.
Can Radiesse be dissolved if I don't like the result?
Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite product and cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase enzyme — unlike hyaluronic acid fillers. This is clearly discussed and disclosed before any treatment. The collagen-stimulating effects are gradual, so results develop over weeks rather than appearing all at once, giving patients time to assess the outcome.
Is financing available for the Radiesse BBL?
Yes. Cherry and CareCredit financing are both accepted at Plump Medical Spa. Current package pricing is available on the treatment menu, and financing applications can be started at pay.withcherry.com/plumpmedicalspa or carecredit.com/go/674KNF.
