RHA Fillers — Built for Movement
The RHA Collection is the only FDA-approved filler line specifically engineered for dynamic facial areas — zones that move constantly with expression. At Plump Medical Spa, RHA is the preferred choice for lips, smile lines, and areas where standard fillers can look stiff or unnatural in motion.
What Is the RHA Collection?
RHA stands for Resilient Hyaluronic Acid. The RHA Collection — developed by Teoxane — uses a patented manufacturing process that preserves hyaluronic acid in its most natural form. Standard HA fillers are heavily cross-linked, which makes them firmer and longer-lasting but also less able to adapt to the dynamic movement of facial muscles.
RHA fillers are cross-linked more gently, allowing them to stretch, compress, and recover with your facial movements rather than resisting them. The result is a filler that looks and feels natural at rest — and remains natural in motion, during expression, and during conversation.
Dynamic facial areas — the lips, perioral zone, nasolabial folds, and upper face — move constantly throughout the day. A filler that can't adapt to this movement creates visible stiffness, unnatural texture, or that distinctive "filled" look that announces itself in conversation. RHA's resilient formulation was specifically developed to solve this problem.
The RHA Product Line
The RHA Collection includes four products — each designed for a specific tissue depth and movement demand. Dr. Mortazavi selects the appropriate product based on your anatomy, the treatment area, and your goals.
RHA vs. Standard HA Fillers
- ✓ Designed for dynamic movement
- ✓ Natural at rest and in expression
- ✓ Resilient — stretches and recovers
- ✓ Gentler cross-linking process
- ✓ Reversible with hyaluronidase
- ✓ FDA-approved for dynamic areas
- — Designed for static placement
- — May appear stiff in motion
- — Resists rather than adapts to movement
- — Heavier cross-linking for durability
- — Reversible with hyaluronidase
- — Excellent for structural/static areas
Note — standard HA fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) remain the right choice for many applications, particularly structural areas like cheeks, jawline, and chin where movement demand is lower. Dr. Mortazavi selects the most appropriate product for each area — RHA is not always the right answer, and he will advise accordingly.

Product selection matters. RHA is not the right answer for every treatment area — and standard HA fillers are not always the wrong one. Dr. Mortazavi's approach to filler is anatomy-first: the product, technique, and volume are all selected based on what your specific face requires, not a templated protocol. Every treatment is designed and performed by Dr. Mortazavi personally.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes RHA different from Juvederm or Restylane?
RHA (Resilient Hyaluronic Acid) uses a gentler cross-linking process that preserves the HA in a more natural state. This allows it to stretch and recover with facial movement rather than resisting it — making it the preferred choice for dynamic areas like the lips, perioral zone, and nasolabial folds where standard fillers can look stiff in motion. Standard HA fillers remain the right choice for structural areas with lower movement demands.
How long does RHA filler last?
RHA fillers are designed to last up to 15 months in dynamic areas — comparable to or longer than many standard HA fillers despite their softer formulation. Duration varies by individual metabolism, treatment area, and product selected.
Can RHA filler be dissolved if I don't like the result?
Yes. RHA is a hyaluronic acid filler and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase enzyme. Plump Medical Spa also offers ultrasound-guided filler dissolving for the safest and most precise reversal — including for filler placed at other practices.
Is RHA the right filler for lips?
For most patients, yes. The lips are one of the most dynamic areas of the face — they move constantly during speech, eating, and expression. RHA 3 is Dr. Mortazavi's preferred product for lip augmentation because it adds volume while maintaining natural movement and texture. RHA 2 is used for finer lip line work.
What is RHA Redensity and is it different from regular under-eye filler?
RHA Redensity is a specialized formulation designed specifically for the periocular zone. It combines HA with a regenerative complex and is lighter and more integrated than standard HA fillers — reducing the risk of the Tyndall effect (bluish discoloration) that can occur with standard HA placed too superficially under the eyes. It is placed with a cannula technique at Plump for precision and reduced bruising.
