CO2 Ablative Resurfacing Laser

$2,200.00

New to CO2 laser? Read the full guide to CO2 laser resurfacing in Newport Beach — including recovery day by day — before booking.

Full-strength ablative CO2 resurfacing. One session, maximum correction. Performed personally by Dr. Amir Mortazavi, MD.

This is the most aggressive non-surgical resurfacing available, and the deepest correction achievable without a scalpel. Higher energy, greater density, deeper penetration than a standard fractional session — a substantial amount of damaged tissue removed and replaced in one treatment.

It requires real downtime. That is the trade, and it is not negotiable.

How this differs from the standard treatment.

The standard fractional CO2 session treats conservatively across multiple visits, with five to seven days of recovery each time. This treats aggressively in one visit, with a longer recovery, and generally achieves in a single session what several standard sessions would build toward.

Neither is better. They suit different patients, different concerns, and different tolerance for downtime. The more expensive option is not automatically the right one for you — Dr. Mortazavi will say so if the standard protocol would serve you better.

Best suited to: significant textural change and deeper wrinkles · established acne scarring · substantial accumulated sun damage · deep perioral and periorbital lines · patients who want maximum correction and can accommodate the recovery · patients who have plateaued with lighter treatments

Recovery, stated plainly.

Days 1–3: significant redness and swelling, particularly the first morning. Skin weeps and requires diligent occlusive care. You will not want to be seen.

Days 4–7: peeling and sloughing of treated tissue. Skin underneath is bright pink and raw-looking.

Days 7–14: the surface has closed. Pink, tight, and tender, but manageable with makeup toward the end of this window.

Weeks 2–8: pinkness fades progressively. Some patients hold color for several months.

Months 3–6: collagen remodeling continues. The final result is not what you see at week four.

Plan for two full weeks away from anything social or professional where appearance matters. Patients who compress that timeline are the ones who end up unhappy — not with the result, but with having tried to work around it.

Who should not have this.

Deeper skin tones carry a meaningfully higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with full ablative treatment, and a different approach is usually safer — Erbium dual resurfacing delivers less thermal load with lower pigmentation risk.

Active acne must be controlled first. Recent isotretinoin use requires a waiting period. A history of keloid scarring, active cold sores, or certain autoimmune conditions all change the calculation.

Significant skin laxity is not treated by this. No laser removes excess tissue. If loose skin is your primary concern, you need a surgeon, and no amount of resurfacing substitutes.

Consultation required before booking. This is not a treatment to purchase from a product page. Skin type, history, healing capacity, and your actual schedule are all assessed first — and Dr. Mortazavi performs the treatment personally, because at these settings the parameters chosen are the difference between an excellent result and a permanent one.
