Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Injected into an area containing HA filler, it dissolves the product — usually within days, sometimes within hours.
This is the reason HA filler is worth choosing in the first place: it's the only filler category that can be reversed.

This treatment is standard dissolving — the area is assessed by examination and palpation, and enzyme is placed based on that assessment. It works well for straightforward cases: a recent treatment, a known product, an obvious lump, a single area.
Ultrasound-guided dissolving visualises the filler on imaging before any enzyme is placed. Worth the difference when the filler is old or of unknown origin, when multiple providers have treated you over years, when previous dissolving didn't fully work, or when the area is complex — the under-eye especially.

Only hyaluronic acid dissolves. Hyaluronidase breaks down HA filler and nothing else. Sculptra, Radiesse, and permanent fillers cannot be dissolved by any enzyme — no provider can remove them this way, and anyone claiming otherwise is misinforming you. Those resolve with time or require different management entirely.
What to expect: the injection takes minutes. Swelling for a few days is normal — the area frequently looks worse before it looks better, and that's expected rather than a sign anything went wrong. The true result is at about two weeks.
Dissolving isn't always precise. Enzyme can affect some of your own natural hyaluronic acid alongside the filler, which occasionally leaves an area looking temporarily deflated beyond baseline. It recovers. Complex cases sometimes need a second session, assessed at follow-up rather than promised upfront.
If you plan to refill afterward, wait at least two weeks so residual enzyme has cleared and the tissue has settled. Refilling too early wastes product.
