Skin heals from adnexal structures — hair follicles and glands that act as reservoirs of new cells. The back of the hand has far fewer of them than the face, and circulation to the extremities is slower. Less regenerative reserve plus slower blood supply means longer healing and a genuinely higher risk of complications if facial settings are applied here.
Hand treatment is therefore performed with lower density and shallower depth, with results built across a series rather than one aggressive session. That's the correct approach for the tissue.
