Aquagold

$500.00

Microchanneling delivery of diluted neurotoxin into the superficial skin. Performed personally by Dr. Amir Mortazavi, MD.

Aquagold uses 24-karat gold-plated microneedles finer than a human hair to deliver product into the upper layer of the skin — rather than into muscle, where conventional neurotoxin is placed.

That depth difference is the entire treatment. At this level, diluted neurotoxin doesn't relax expression. It acts on the small muscles around pores and on oil and sweat production, producing tighter-looking pores, less shine, and a smoother, more reflective surface.

This is not Botox as you know it.

Conventional neurotoxin goes into muscle to stop movement. This goes into skin, in far smaller diluted amounts, distributed across the surface.

Your expression is unaffected. You'll still raise your brows and smile normally. If you want your lines relaxed, that's standard neurotoxin treatment — a different treatment at a different depth.

Treats: enlarged pore appearance · oily skin and midday shine · rough or uneven surface texture · dullness and lack of glow · fine surface lines · overall skin quality before an event

This is the event treatment. Results appear within days and don't require recovery, which makes it the most common choice before a wedding, a shoot, or anything where skin needs to look its best on a specific date. Book it about one to two weeks ahead — enough time for the effect to develop, with room to spare.

What to expect: 20 to 30 minutes with topical numbing. The microneedles are extremely fine, and most patients describe it as mild.

Expect light redness for a few hours, occasionally into the next day. Makeup can typically go on the following day.

Skin looks brighter within a few days, with the full effect at about one to two weeks. Results last roughly two to three months — shorter than muscle-level treatment, because the doses are so small.

Realistic expectation: this is a skin-quality treatment. It refines, smooths, and adds glow. It doesn't treat volume loss, deep lines, laxity, scarring, or pigmentation.

For pigment, see Pico laser. For texture and deeper lines, resurfacing. For hydration from within, SkinVive.

Dr. Mortazavi will tell you which of these is actually driving what you're seeing — Aquagold is frequently not the answer, and it's an expensive treatment to buy for the wrong problem.
