Poly-L-lactic acid collagen biostimulator, injected personally by Dr. Amir Mortazavi, MD.

Sculptra doesn't fill. It stimulates your own body to produce collagen over the following months. The product itself is absorbed — the collagen it triggered is what you keep.

That distinction matters practically. Filler is visible immediately and metabolizes away. Sculptra produces almost no immediate volume and builds gradually, which is why the result reads as your face rather than as a treatment.

Face and body — not just the face.

Most practices in Orange County offer Sculptra for the face only. Here it's used across:

Face — midface, temples, cheeks, jawline support, overall volume
Neck and chest — neck and décolletage skin quality
Hands — hand rejuvenation
Body — buttocks and hip dips, knees, elbows, stomach

What Sculptra suits, and what it doesn't.

Good fit: broad, diffuse volume loss rather than one specific hollow · overall skin thickness and quality · patients who want change to emerge gradually rather than all at once · patients who want longevity — results commonly last two years or more

Wrong fit: a specific hollow needing precise correction — that's filler · lips, which Sculptra is not used for · anyone wanting a same-day visible result

The thing that matters most: Sculptra cannot be dissolved.

Hyaluronic acid filler is reversible. If placement is wrong, hyaluronidase removes it within days.

Sculptra has no reversal agent. Product placed too superficially or in the wrong plane can produce nodules that surface months later, and correcting them is difficult and slow.

This is the treatment where who injects you matters most, and it's the reason it isn't delegated here. Depth and plane are the entire game, and there's no undo.

What to expect: 30 to 45 minutes with numbing. Immediately after, the face looks fuller from the injection fluid — that resolves within days and is not your result. Many patients think the treatment "wore off" in week one; it hadn't started yet.

Collagen builds over 6 to 12 weeks per session. Most patients need a series — commonly two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart — with the full result visible several months after the last.

Massage matters. The post-treatment massage protocol genuinely affects outcome and reduces nodule risk. Full instructions are on the Sculptra aftercare page.

How many vials you need is determined at consultation, based on degree of volume loss and area treated — not selected in advance.
