SkinVive Lip Hydration

$600.00

New to lip hydration? Read the full guide to SkinVive for lips in Newport Beach — including how it differs from lip filler — before booking.

Intradermal hyaluronic acid micro-injections that hydrate the lip tissue itself. Performed personally by Dr. Amir Mortazavi, MD.

Chronically dry lips don't respond to balm because balm sits on the surface. The dryness originates within the tissue, and topical products can't reach it.

SkinVive is a highly diluted hyaluronic acid placed intradermally — into the lip tissue rather than beneath it. Hyaluronic acid binds water, so hydration is delivered inside the tissue where the problem actually is. Lips become softer, smoother, and better hydrated.

This will not make your lips bigger.

SkinVive is not a volumizing product. It won't increase lip size, project the lips forward, or change lip shape. Some patients notice a subtle plumping from improved hydration, but that's a tissue-quality change rather than added volume.

If you want fuller lips, you want lip filler. If you want lips that look and feel healthier — hydrated, soft, less lined — this is the treatment that does that.

Best for: chronically dry or chapped lips that don't respond to topical products · fine vertical lip lines · lips that have lost softness and suppleness with age · dull or crepey lip texture · patients who already have lip filler but still feel their lips look dry or lined

A meaningful number of patients who come in asking for more lip filler actually want this. They have adequate volume already, and what's bothering them is surface quality — dryness and fine lines that more volume won't fix and can make more obvious.

What to expect: 20 to 30 minutes, with topical numbing given extra time to work since the lips are sensitive. Small bumps at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within hours to a day. Brief swelling is common and settles within 24 to 48 hours.

Lips feel softer immediately. The full result — texture, smoothness, softened lines — develops over 2 to 4 weeks. Results typically last around 6 months, sometimes slightly less in the lips since they're a high-movement, high-metabolism area.

On off-label use. SkinVive by Juvederm is FDA-approved for improving skin smoothness of the cheeks in adults. Use in the lips is off-label — legal, common in aesthetic medicine, and consistent with how skin boosters are used internationally. Dr. Mortazavi discusses this with every patient before treating.

Often combined with: lip laser resurfacing for vertical lip lines, or lip filler where volume is also wanted. Hydration improves tissue quality; filler adds structure. They address different things and work well together.
